rained & snowed in the morning done no work in the claim I done no
washing of clothes a coupple of men came over to hire out I gave them 80$ per month & board rained & snowed in the evening but did not
Wed work ready to get to washing nothing more to day
12th the men came up to go to wash out the boxes & went to washing did not
Thr weigh the gold all of it very cold in the morning
13th A pretty day all hands washed did not weigh the gold nothing else
Fr 14th A pretty day all hands ground sluiced washed out the patent riffle
Sat box & got about 3$ nothing other wise new to day
15th nothing interesting to day a pretty day all hands washed to day & only got
Su out 27$ in four days the hands went to the point after supper
16th I went to the saw mill & looked at them wash a while also went to
the point but did not stay long paid off the hired hands & came back
to the cabbin Pa & Dobson came up about noon & went over to the ravine to
look at the diggins all went to the point after dinner & took our
picks to get sharpened we came back & started for rich bar about
