Thr 13th staid about the cabbin  (Dec 1855) all day having nothing else
to do Bill went to the point about noon Pa & Dave came back w
ith him about supper time they left Ma & Lizzie at Rabbit creek
Frd heard all of the news of course snowed a little today
14th we all shoveled out roads to the spring & between the cabins
Sat Bill & I hauled some wood on a sled & pulled out the tongue pretty
15th Jim Bill & I went to the point after breakfast to grind a chiz
zle & got an augre & came back Jim & Bill staid all night
Su snowed all day nothing else I believe
16th staid about the cabbin all day & made snow shoes out of hoops
& flour sacks Jim came home before breakfast but Bill staid
Mo on his spree warm & thawed all day
17th I finished the sled &c Dave Pa & I went up the ditch as far
as the big floom & found the water near the bear trap coming
Tus down we wore our snow shoes to try them thawing fast all day
18th I started about day light for Quincy & got there about 10 oc
I staid until after dinner got through with my business
& started home stopped a little while at the Illinois ranch
