April 59

Su 3             not so cold last kt as has been
verry pleasant to day the first weve
had for many a day, I put up
some fence of Hund — a long the land
to keep Due brs cattle out. after
dinner I blackt my Boots put on my
new pants & vest then halld on my grey
forked tall coat stick in hand i
went up town & cut a stiff over
the Bob tails. I rcvd a letter by
express from wife of date 19
& says she is anxious to come
up, i wrote an answer to it before
i went to bed

Mo 4            still getting warmer of kts
& move so to day i collected 8$
from John Bass & got an order
on Fairchilds for 35$ sent it
out by Whiting cost 1$ to collect

April 59

I sent 80$ by Express cost 1 1/2$
& the letter to wife 1/4$. John drove the
speckled coe to lintons to the Bull
& left her there all day p.m. we
fixed our petition fence & fixed up
the remainder of Hundleys along
the lain John went after but could
not find; the cow so after dark
I went & found the cow & bull &
drove them home, John did the
milking this evening Jones gone
i pd 3$ for beef.

Tu 5            some cold & clowdy we have qui
te a time milking & only two cows, we
cut & halld two loads of oak posts in
tend to set them in the ground to hold
up my petition fence with Huntly & John
halld load wood for Titus.
Byers part is going on at the Courthouse.

We 6           We fixed in the pen a mainger
& trought to feed the calvs and
put them out of the Barn
