sledge load through the snow
a part of the way 7 men turnd
out, we had gotten over the har
dest places 3 turnd back & the oth
er 4 went on the Nelson point
arrivd all in good order & in time
we put up at the Thompson
house, it’s snowing still.

Th 27          raind last kt & raind &
snowd all of today, so after
dinner I , wife & Liz started
for our cabins, it was as mu
tch as wife could do to walk
(home) Dave & John went home
on yesterday evening & (?)
Rains Drinking & gambling at
the point, my bill at the point
John his ma & Liz got supper
on last Mo 24th several men
that passd between onion vally
& Gibson ville had there feet fro
sted considerably.

Fr 28           I was up before day light as
I got cold in the bunk I was
sleeping in, & not in my old

Dec 55

cabin we had concluded to
stop in the other cabin. Liz &
John got Breckfast. That over
I concluded to moove back in
my own cabin, I took down
the old bunks & put up two
double ones, one above the other,
I & wife takes the under & Liz
the upper one, clear & clod.
Last kt & all of today the wo
men has been cleaning up to day.

Sat 29         Clear & cold last kt & all of
today. I was fixing up my old
cabin chinking the cracks on the
inside with rags & taking down
some old shelves. John Dave &
Rains cut a set of cabin logs by
noon to make a store & cook house.
Dave broke my ax cutting to day.

Su 30          Cold & clear we all put in our
time rather poorly the cold wea
ther the lack of comforts for fern
ales all tend to make our time dra
g, heavily on & it is entirely too cold
to do anything at mining.
