Feb 56

Mo 11          I, Fox & Sockum went up to our
cabin arrivd after dark. Dave
& Bray & Parker was there…
pd clerks feed 13 1/2$ pd by Fox.

Tu 12          Not so cold last kt. The snow
melted verry mutch to day. All
six of us went up & the trou
ghfs on the ground to put up the fl
oom for the new part of the ditch, af
ter dinner I, Dave & Fox & Sockum
started for home & Sockum for the

when we three got to old Terwille
gars diggins, he T stopd us by asking
what it was that we wanted to have
a law suit about. & said we had ac
ted Dams rascally in turning out wat
er out of our own ditch. This he repeated
a second time. I stepd up to him & said
I was one of the compy & he must not
say so. He repeated it again. I told him
he was a liar. He struck me with a
shovel. His son & Larison tride to do
the same, Dave fought the old man

Feb 56

I ran Larison with a dirk knife
and was trying to stab the old man
& Fox caught me. Dave was on him
a whipd him badly. The fuss over we
started again for home. Met the sher
iff in 1/4 mile. He went & servd the papers
on old Terwillegar. We met John
on the hill above Martins. He turnd
round & went home with us again.

We 13         Nights not so clod & the days are
warm enough to melt the snow co
nsiderable. After breckfast John & Bill
started for Massac diggins. I, Dave
& Shults went to mining. The hose
ripd a little in several places. We
memded them. P.M. got gold 9$.
M wrist is quite sore from the
blow I knocked off that Terwillegar
made.

Th 14          To day is the warmest. I was
to see Lewis & family at his house.
Bray came over on yesterday &
went back to day. I did not see him.
