Th 14          all evening, we hand up
all the boxes & got gold 18$

Fr 15           the weather is moderating, the
days are melting off the snow
verry fast, the hose has kept me
sewing most of the day at noon
John Thompson & Sam Baliw
came by our diggins, on their
way to AM. Vally, B wants
to see about our law suit with
Terwilgar &c. They Brought MRs Thom
to our cabin, she is scard about
Franks interst over at Massac
after sun set, wife Liz & I went
down to the point to a little party
at Foxes broke up at 2 in morning

Sat 16         cold last kt, but warm to day
about 10 a.m. we all got home
again we laid off our finery
& went to work after dinner I
went out to the diggins & workd
till kt, cleand up & got gold 10$

before dark John & Rains came
home, they say all is quiet over
at Massac, except preparing for
the law suit & old Bray is bou
ght out sackrun & is quite thick
with old Terwilegar &c —

Su 17          warm & clowdy all day. we
went but the diggins & set the sloos
in a new place others where we
prospected the claim, & I mended
the hose some & laid them forpipe
ing. after dinner John & Bill
started for Massac diggins. I
& shults went down to the point
I got tobacco for wife 1$ sold gold
dust 41$ & read 2-3 chapt of G of John

Mo 18         froze last kt but warm to day
I went ove to quincy on buis
negro I ot out an execution a
gainst Lloyd cost 9$ for servises a
gainst Terwilligar & staid all Kt
