Feb 1855

Th 22          it had and was snowing
a little this morning when i got
up the old snow was quite all
melted off & to day it is slightly
coverd again, we cant work
in our diggins. I went down to
the point paid Roots & Lewis all
we owd them 13 1/4$ as 8 1/2$ was
markd pd 5$ for Johns hat & 3 1/2 for
whiskey. I gave Mrs Doussler
2$ for an oven & lid for compy

Fr 23           snowing this morning & con
tinued moore or less most of
the day shaw & I had a sett
lement & divided out 64$ in 4
shears he got one & I kept three. I
then paid him off 7 1/2 oz in
gold dust that Ihad Borowed
in all 12 oz I previously pd 4 1/2 oz
p.m. shaw Lawrance & I went
down to the point as we cant work

Feb 1855

Lloyd is anxious to know whether
I will let him work again with
us or not. I saw a son
of sam Browns that cash Cldy
had the fight with

Sat 24         clear & cold last kt 3 inches
of snow on the ground we are not
doing anything like work. warm
& hazy to day. I was down to the
point & larnd for the first time
Adams & co Banking Express
has faild. I had 2 old blue shirts
cut one up to patch the other late
at knight, the snow it quite all gone

Su 25          cold & clear last kt but wa
rm & clowdy to day. I finishd
mending my shirt & read the
first & second chapters of the first
epsitle General of Peter, after
dinner I went down to the point
