3rd 4 & 5 chapts of Gen & of Peter.
Mo 4 Snowd last kt & this morning &
continued clowdy without sno

to Quincy & returnd this evening.

Tu 5 Verry cold last kt so mutch
so that we cannot work. I
& Rains concluded to go over
to Sockum Diggins, we took
dinner at their cabin on some
cold scraps & dry bread. We then
went up the ditch to where our
partners was at work cutting a
new ditch. We all six went ba
ck 2 miles the cabin & staid
all kt and I slepd with John.
We 6 Still verry cold last kt but
the sun shone out out all day
but not verry warm. We enga
gd the water in our ditch to some
miners at 4$ per day. I turnd
the water in the disputed ditch
so they did not agree among them
selved so they did not use it. I
& Rains went up the ditch to its
head & stopd a leak, returnd took
a cold dinner & I was helping
