Feb 59

Sat 5           we were at work splitting
wood in time finishd & cording
it up Middle. p.m. 8 cords i ha
lld a larg load Bark & put it in
the wood house, Jones Michel
the white faced cow &c —

Su 6             Clowdy with some rain I
was waked up before day by
the smell of a skunk, my first
thought. the speckld pullet under
the house had paid the penalty
as there was nothing else the
stiniking varmint could ha
ndle. but morning came &
so did the hen for her grub
the speckld cow calvd last
kt in the barn, you ought
to have ween me give it the
teete but never too old learn
Breckfast over I cleand up the
dishes & then to make some
Bred whitch I did in good
style, then cleand up my
room & lookd a round & found

Feb 59

the hen house roof was about to
cave in, some rany all day &.
closd the day by taking Dinner
& supper all at one time &c
what a pleasant time one has
by him self none to dispute

Mo 7            raind last Kt & to day some
I was ritting up the chicken house
I pd 1$ for beef & 1$ candles
& halld 2 cords wood to John Bass
deliverd to Mrs. Inman price
3$ per cord I suppose —

Tu 8             still raining after doing up
the Cheurs & cooking I cleand
out the hen house & took down the
old nests to put them up a
new Overton was to see me
had some chat about money
atters. I told him he should
be paid for wainting, I wrote
a letter to wife & John rain
ing very hard at bed time
