July 55

Th 12          I had a good knights sleep
last did not wake up till sun
rise I & John went to work
at our same old place we were
running off tailings did not see
the couldor the other boys were at
work on the ditch some AM
but are digging away at a large

Fr 13           I was sleeping away the sun
one hour high was calld up
by shaw I & John was cleaning
away tailings roots & stumps in
the old ravine where we workd
Last March one year ago. no
gold. after supper I was set
ting at the side of the doore of
the other cabin after sun set
I heard something like distant
thunder. The cabin shook & the
boards rattled on the roof, a sle
ght sake of the earth —
shaw & Lawrance has dow
to the point

Sat 14        we are still cleaning away
the tailings Ive been handling
rock so mutch my fingers is
worn through to the quick. we
got gold 8$ & Lawrances comp
has take out 226$ in the 2 weeks
I & John get the one half last

Su 15          a beautifull morning as
is so common the season has
past for the Robins to sing &
o shall I again hear that voi
ce that haunts my memory
by day & by kt. i still hope
Lawrance has prepard to go to
compton vill to collect some
money. Ive all went down to
the point & collected 200$ of
John Bass & put 100$ moore to
it & got Wm Timbreman to
take it to H.P. & the other 130$
making in all 530$ to send to
Brother Dave to come to cala
