John finishd painting the wagon
This forenoon, Bates pd me 2$
for the use of team & got my old
X cut saw for a few days 1/2$ per day
late I was sharpning my new saw

We 16         Some cold last Kt. get warm &
pleasant all day. I put the X cut
say in order this a.m. we were
cutting blocks for fire wood Jones
was shoving the snow off the
the log. after supper John got
4 hens of Jones at 1 3/4$ a piece i went
to lintons & got a rooster, John ca
ught the pullit to day all in the
hen house to kt 1/2 oxgen
i pd 1 1/2$ for beef

We 17         Not so cod last Kt verry nice
and warm today we split 4
cords 20 ft wood a.m. p.m. John
halld to printing office. I & Somes
shoveld the snow off the remaining
to of tree & chopd some & split it.

March 59

John got 1/2 tt venetian red at 1/4$
I churned again at noon & drepd
the butter to Kt.

Fr 18            comensd early to rain & contin
ued all day I let some water &
washed the parlor & dining room
floors this a.m. p.m. up town look
ing at game of poker. Harverson
Boys, Dean, Moore & pud. I.C. Lewis
sent & got about 4 lb butter. I pd
1 1/2$ for beef, after supper I
washed 2 pr socks. Then my self

Sat 19         the weather changeable clear
I & Jones finished sawing the log in
the garden, the yellow heifer had
a calf out of time, we caught &
milked her. John heapd some
dung from before the barn
door. & halld 2 bales hay to Mrs
Coffin at 4$ & halld 2 cords wood
to Jones, the Plumas Rangers had
an election for officers. R.O. Bar
