March 56

Th 27           I rested better last kt & feel a
little better this morning, Rains went
to Judkins & got a plough for braking
sod had it sharpd cost 2$ & 1$ to get
a broom. P.M. Rains got Elliot to
help him to plough but it is too hard
for two yoke of cattle to pull. The Dr
same & said he would have to lance
my leg on tomorrow. Dave went home.

Fr 28            Ive rested better, it has commensd to
rain & continued moore or less all day.
John came up yesterday & over to see
us to day, he did not get his money
but says that Bub will get it for him
by the 15th April. Rains halling rails all
day. P.M. the Dr lancd my leg two
cutts to finish rather severe operation
A quantity of matter let out.

Sat 29        Still raining. John went over
to the digging to set things a mooveing
again about right. Shults came over
to see us this P.M. I sighnd his
bond for 150$ to Musgrave for three
months commencing 1rst April 56.
The Dr was to see me & said he would
call in a few days again.

March 56

The butcher came I pd him for beef
up to date 5 1/4$ up to date Rains was
halling rails most of the day & made
Liz a bed stead. Snowing at intervals.

Su 30          The storm is on the increase. Snow
ing verry fast at times. Rains went over
to the diggins. Shults staid all day wi
th us. Ive imprvd verry mutch. I got
out of bed & went in the kitchen set up
a long time after supper Rains got
home, snowing verry fast this evening.

Mo 31         I slepd sound from after 10 till day
ligh. I got up went in to the kitchen
eat breckfast, dressd my leg & remain
setting up. Rains halling rails, no
rain or snow falling mutch, rain
at intervals. Shults gone home.
Rains got one yoke of oxen to work of
John Terwillegar on yesterday evening.
At noon raining considerable &
P.M. the sun shone out handsome till
quite late then raining. I continued
up all day.
