May 57

Sat 2           still getting rails. I was plan
ting corn, beans & other seeds all
day. Dave stuck the peas.. there
was a dance at the am Ranch Last
Kt. Liz stuck a penknife in
her hand, swelld verry mutch
John came over today

Su 3             no rain nor likely for any soon
the weather clear Kts. some cool
Lem & John rode over to the
point p.m. I recvd a letter from
A. Mengers & a recpt for 200$ &
Mrs. Duesler pd me 64$ in cash
and Butter for hay & potaotes
Norton whipd Bradley to Kt.

them up. we finishd the
fence by noon, after Bell
pd me 25$ on hay Rains
hlld some lumber from
Bates mill, I & Lem made
a ditch above the lane

We 6           Lem cutting bushes wi
th briar sythe. I & Dave
putting up plank fence
next wheelers, commensd
raining , quite hard this a.m.
Rains rolling & Lem
furring the roes out, but had
to quit for rain this p.m.

Th 7            the snow is all over the
vally & a quantity all over
the mountains. I was
worming the cabbage plan
ts I then weighd out
