Nov 1853

Sun 6        old duds that was put together by your
fingers. I feel like Ive parted
with a friend when Im co
mpelled to lay them a side. I all
ways burn them. John
is mixing up dough for bread
breckfast is over & Ive made this entry
I had likd to have forgotten last knight.
I did some mending on my casinett
pants that I got from S. R. Betts-
them & the blues is all Ive worn
in this country, the day is past
& gone no moore to return & how have
I out in my time. Thoughts Ive many.
Cut a ditch on the upper side of my
cabin to keep the rains flood
ing my cabin floor as a storm is
lood for. Some clowdy & the wind from
south west. John has gone to bed.

Nov 1853

Sun 6          On this afternoon went up the
ditch with VA friend saw tow
grisly tracks one sall a cub that-
Ive finished my wooden wash bole
to knight. It looks very mutch like
something you know that has
a handle on the out side. Good knight.

Mo 7            Got gols 25$ something better
fine weather no rain cool morn
ings and warm days. Yellow Jacketts
are flying about of days pleanty.

Tu 8             Got gold 11$ quite cool this
morning ice all anout our box
es & froze. Our water scearce in
the ditch had to send two men
up it, to tramp the bottom.

We 9            Got gold 8$ warm but clow
dy all day commenced drisling
late in the evening. On reaching
