Sun 16        Finished our chimney to the
cabin. John & I went to the point to
settle up for lost time after
night & took supper & then to bed.

Dave trimd my hair by candle
light. John baked 3 loves of
bread & then washd shirts towls &
socks and I wasd & went to bed
the kiotes gives us a barking evry night.

Did not work mining
in the afternoon one, of
the men went down to Nels
creek & brought a letter to me
from Jack,1 that had been
written ever since middle sept.
We now have our cabin fin
ishd. Hewn down inside all
in good order & have been slee
ping in it since We 19th as yet
weve not as mutch as a stool to
sit on. At this time of the moon
it rises before I go to bed &
I am up before sunrise, we
have no way of keeping time.
