went to building a chimney
to day all hands had worked out
the pan box & got 1 & 1/2 oz & 1 1/2$
pretty good to day very cold in the
morning nothing other wise new
to day I believe

commenced snowing after break
fast & continued all day & the best part
of the night we carried in wood a
while & Dad & I dug out a place to
set our big sluices in & commenced
rolling them but did not finish then
Laurance came down to look at
Maydens claim nothing of inter
est to day

Snow about 8 inches deep in the morn
ing it melted some about noon Dad
& I finished setting out boxes to day

we all put on some canvass afterd
upper on the house but did not finish
it nothing of particular interest to
day

Ned & Iweton was fixing the hose
above the gum before dinner & Dad
& I was trying to put ina  box in the
bank a piece Dad & I sluiced a little
after donner & ned & sweeten was
fixing a penstalk higher up the
hill we had to raise some of our
boxes that had sunk down a l
ittle snowed after dark some

we fixed up our bunks in the fore
noon & went  to the point after din
ner & paid for our grub we bought
gum boots to wash in ned & Swee
ton staid at the point after nig
ht gambling I suppose no more
