Kyler & I went to the point for
nails & Kyler to the valley for a
beef he got back in the morning
with an ox he paid 75$ for it the ba
llance of us set our loading tro
ughs & finished them in the eve
ning moore came over about no
on for some sacks to put potat
oes in nothing of consequence to day
sterlings commenced cleaning
up to day
we found our beef dead about daylig
ht we went to wash & press him we
got our hose ready to wash &c nothing
more to day I believe
very cold to day about noon we w
ent to piping in the morning & alto
ns fell in & broke one box all to p
ieces & knocked our hose down

Nov 1858

we put in another one & got out
the stump late in the evening
nothing else to day uncommon
went to piping to day but the water
soon stopped & we broke rocks we
commenced piping again in the eve
ning & run in til the middle of the
after noon & the water stopped we
got ready to run at night Ned & I
but our little reservoir broke do
wn. Ned & I went up town af
ter supper & staid until bed
time no more to day I believe
piped in the evening as usual Ned
& I run until 12oc at night it
commenced snowing after supper
& continued all night the water
wouldn’t run in to our hose on
account of the snow falling so fa
st nothing else to day
